On
June 8, 2006 high school students of West Ferris Secondary School
in North Bay visited Scarborough Gurdwara as part of their religious
education course. Their teacher, John Hetherington, wanted them
to experience the multicultural aspects of Toronto and learn about
the many different faiths that are followed in this area. The
students spent 2 hours looking around the Gurdwara, leaving about
how Sikhs pray, what they believe in, and also having "langar".
They were a curious group, and asked lots of questions about Sikhism.
They left the Gurdwara feeling better educated about the Sikh
way of life.
