Maritime Sikh Society

img_3837.jpg While checking the route out to the east Inderpal, who heads the East run team, met representatives of the The Maritime Sikh Society. The Society, with a Gurdwara in Halifax for more than 30 years, were so welcoming, something only you can experience in small communities. Representatives, Gursharan Singh Toor, Jagpal Singh Tiwana, Surinderpal Singh Sodhi and Pyara Singh Randhawa, met the GGSCF volunteers on September 26th for a couple of hours. They were supportive of the event and provided a contact list of all the Sikhs living in Nova Scotia. While the run will not pass through Halifax it was agreed the runners would drive down and stay a day in Halifax to meet the sangat and share this event with the local community.
