10th Anniversary Akhand Path Celebrations

prayers.jpg The GGSCF celebrated its 10th Anniversary with an Akhand Path done by the children/youth and some parents. The celebrations started on Friday March 20 at 8am. Tajinder organized the readers who all performed their sewa without any payment and volunteer’s families took turns to come along during the two days and listen to  the shabads from the Sri Guru Granth Sahib. The readers were: Pardeep Kaur, Amrit Kaur, Monique Kaur, Pavan Kaur, Harminder Kaur, Harpal Kaur, Kulwinder Singh, Amritpal Singh, Sanjeet Kaur, Parvinder Singh, Onkar Singh, Raj Singh, Kuljit Kaur, Amandeep Kaur, Tejwant Singh, Ravinder Singh and Tajinder Kaur herself. 

After the Akhand Path Bhog on March 22 at 10am, Jaspreet Kaur and Diljot Kaur performed kirtan in classical rags and then Pardeep Kaur performed the theme shabad for the run. 

kirtan.jpg This was followed by a presentation about the relay run across Canada by Sandeep Singh. This was lead by a Q&A session where the enthusiasm of the listeners was shown by the detailed questions being asked. These were answered by Inderpal Kaur, Sophia Kaur, Sandeep Singh, Taranpreet Kaur, Sandeep Kaur. Nimratirvir Kaur then thanked the sponsors and media who turned out to support this event. Paneet Kaur thanked all those who came out to celebrate the 10th Anniversary and the program concluded at 11:30am. Jasjit Singh Bhullar, the President of Ontario Khalsa Darbar, congratulated the volunteers and the effort being made towards the run this summer. Ravinder Singh also came representing Ramgarhia Gurdwara, Ajmer Singh Brar representing Scarborough Gurdwara, and Sher Daljit Singh representing the Sikh Heritage Centre/Mayfield Gurdwara.  

helpers.jpg Details of the run, flyers, forms, balloons, candy, T-shirts was distributed by volunteers Gurleen Kaur, Premeet Kaur, Gursharan Kaur, Amitoz Singh, Jaytagan Kaur, Paramjot Singh, Jasjit Singh, Amanjit Singh, Jaipal Singh, Jagdeep Singh. Those who want to get involved should come out to the practice runs both in Scarborough Gurdwara and Dixie Gurdwara every Sunday mornings or to the monthly meetings.

    Children keep up the great work, good to see the spirit of our Gurus shine in all that you do. This year with the relay run I hope you can show how your own courage, determination and faith in Guruji will touch many hearts and inspire many souls.
