CN Tower Stair Climb

22 April 2009 No Comment

cn_tower_stair_climb.jpg Another year of climbing the 1776 steps to the top of the CN Tower by the GGSCF group on April 18th. This year there were 40 participants raising $3000 for the World Wildlife Fund of Canada. The group was smaller than last year and less younger members taking part. This is probably due to the increase in cost of participating which is now $75/person and also with many of the children/youth also collecting pledges for the run this summer. The fastest climber winning the Mata Kishan Kaur Cup for the 2nd year was 15 year old Amandeep Singh Chahal who climbed in 13 minutes and 36 seconds. Also, a local member of parliament took part in the climb but was well disguised as he did not wear this typical suit and tie to the event. All those who climbed were winners and many of the youngsters are on the Across Canada Run teams and so are very fit from all the training.
