Canmore, AB to Yoho, BC.

The west team started their day outside of Canmore, Alberta. The blue team began their course for the day at 6:00 am at Banff National Park in Alberta. They completed Ardas along the scenic view of the Rocky Mountains. It was a beautiful sight to the start of their day. The destination at the end of the day was to enter the final province of the Run Across Canada and to arrive in Field, British Columbia. The youth were very eager and excited to enter the province of British Columbia by day’s end. It marked the final stretch of their remarkable Run Across Canada.

It was a gorgeous day to run as the sun was out; the youth were smiling, and the mountain terrain set as the backdrop. The youth enjoyed running along the Rockies, a different landscape from the plains of the prairies. Its beauty was very appealing to the eye of the runners as they were able to run alongside the mountains and the bodies of water which accompanied them. Moreover, the runners did not have any problem in conquering the hills of the Trans Canada Highway. The runners completed three hours of running, and had also received tremendous amount of support from many of the travellers along the Trans Canada Highway. As the teams switched for the next shift, the yellow team continued the run to Lake Louise.

As a treat, each of the two teams took a trip into the city of Banff. The youth were treated to a tour and saw the amazing Fairmont Springs Hotel and the Bow Spray River. The teams even had a chance to cool down in the cold water of the river. The blue team was even more delighted to receive a donation at the park from a traveller who had seen them running across the Trans Canada Highway. Following, their trip into the city of Banff the teams travelled to Lake Louise for lunch prepared by Mr.Ravinder Sondh and family. It was very delicious and had energized the teams for their final legs of the day. Moreover, the teams had the opportunity to view Lake Louise, which was another beautiful sight of Western Canada.

In the final legs of the day the blue and yellow team worked very hard and covered a total distance of 126 km by the end of the day and. The teams continue their journey across Canada and their next stop is Golden, British Columbia!
