Stage 56
Kamloops, BC to Dallas, BC.

After having a nice hot breakfast at the hotel, the yellow team started their day early in the morning. After doing ardas alongside the Thompson River in Kamloops, the team ran hard knowing they only had one shift to cover as opposed to the regular two shifts. As the day progressed, the weather got hotter and harder to handle. Heading through and around Kamloops on the surrounding hills, the team enjoyed the great view of the city that sat in the desert environment. As the yellow team prepared for the switch, the wind was blowing against the runners and the heat and humidity were becoming unbearable. The blue team did a great job of running in the conditions they had before them and finished off the day strong. The evening program consisted of visiting the second of the gurdwaras in Kamloops that was closed when we went yesterday. In the evening there was a fundraising reception at the Coast Canadian Inn where we stayed. Bhupinder Kaur Kang was the host and offered the hotel free of change. She had called her friends: local businessmen and Gurdwara representatives. The runners made a presentation, slideshow and speeches and received generous donations from the residents of Kamloops. The GGSCF would like to acknowledge the special way we were treated by the Kang family. They made us feel at home and did everything possible to completely “spoil” us and we will not forget their hospitality.
