Suffield, AB to Bassano, AB.

The West Team was up and early as usual in the early hours of the morning as they drove up to the start point just past Suffield. The slopes that they saw in the days before had vanished and it seemed as if they were lost in the prairie landscape that stretched endlessly into the distance with nothing but the divided highway and the occasional truck that would pass by. As they headed northwest towards Calgary a copper sun rose behind them and cast long shadows that were seen along with the warm deep breaths that steamed out of the mouths of the runners. Read more…

Calumet, QC to Ottawa, ON.

Today is the big day as we end up in Ottawa, our nation’s capital. Ironically, we reach here exactly ten years to the day we completed the run in 1999. At that time, it was announced the only step up from running from Toronto to Ottawa was to run across the entire country, a dream of every Canadian child after the heritage set by Canadian hero Terry Fox.

Maple Creek, SK to Suffield, AB.

Early in the morning, the yellow team began the final leg of the run through Saskatchewan as it neared the provincial border with Alberta. The weather was fierce, testing the mental and physical toughness of each runner. With the blessings of Guru Ji, the runners were able to make it through dark skies, rain, and strong winds. Montreal, QC to Calumet, QC

The day started on Mount Royal, overlooking the city below and the St. Lawrence River in the distance. After the daily ardas, the runners proceeded down the western slopes of Mount Royal and through the busy streets during rush hour. Saint Sulpice, QC to Montreal, QC.

The Run arrived in Montreal entering the city over the River Des Prairies Pont Le Gardeur and then heading down Notre Dame Street. Along the way, the run passed the Montreal Olympic Stadium before continuing through the old downtown Montreal streets and then through the city along Rene Levesque Boulevard to the Montreal Children’s Hospital.
