South Bay, ON to Naiscoutaing, ON.

Many know Rick Hansen as the guy who started Wheels in Motion, but to us he is more then a hero, he is our inspiration. He circled the world in his wheelchair, showing us that nothing is impossible. As a close friend of Terry Fox, Mr. Hansen was truly inspired to make a difference. As Centre team 1 reaches its end Rick Hansen and Terry Fox remind us everyday that our small efforts go a long way towards helping Children in both our Canada and across the world.

Newmarket, ON to South Bay, ON.

Most of us have grown up with images of Terry Fox running across Canada, a symbol of all the things we hold dear as Canadians. I imagine many of us have thought a lot about his determination and strength throughout our time on the road. For Terry, he was driven by an overwhelming need to prove that one person can make a difference. Descendants of Terry’s dream, we all brought a number of motivations with us to this run. Some of us wanted to represent the Sikh religion and share the lessons of serving humanity. Others looked forward to accepting the challenge of running miles and miles across Canada. Toronto, ON to Newmarket, ON.

After enduring the typical morning rush on Toronto’s Don Valley Parkway, the Centre Team arrived at Queen’s Park to begin stage 22. After the Ardas was done by Amanjit Singh, the team did a few stretches and the day began, all the while most Torontonians were beginning their work day!

Bowmanville, ON to Toronto, ON.

Stage 21 of the Children’s Run Across Canada began with great enthusiasm as the runners were keen to finish off the day at the historic Queen’s Park in the heart of downtown Toronto! The team was excited to have a special group of children and youth join them for the day. Both teams were able to run together for the first time which was lots of fun!

Shannonville, ON to Bowmanville, ON.

Centre Team 1 began the day in Belleville at six o’clock in the morning. The runners were fortunate enough to enjoy pleasant weather while completing over one hundred kilometers. Runners were accompanied on the road with friendly creatures such as Gardner snakes, dogs and cows.
