Saturday, April 17, 2010.

cntower April 17, 2010, the GGSCF participated, for the fifteenth consecutive year, in the CN Tower Stair Climb for the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). This year, thirty-six climbers of all ages made the journey up the tower’s 1760 steps and raised $2700 to help fight global warming. On Tuesday, January 12, 2010, there was a 7.0 magnitude earthquake which caused catastrophic damage and human loss. Many of you have been asking what the Guru Gobind Singh Children’s Foundation is doing. We are too small of an organization to be able to help in this event. We urge all people who want to help to donate to international charities such as the International Red Cross, Unicef, World Vision, Plan Canada, and HelpHaitiNow.org, since the government will match any donations made by Canadians to these charities.

We are sponsoring two children in Haiti through Plan Canada. We have not heard from them yet but Plan Canada will advise us of their condition in the near future.
