GGSCF volunteers held the annual Guru Nanak Food Drive from Diwali to the Gurpurab (10th to 28th November). Young volunteers put out boxes from the Daily Bread Food Bank, all labelled so that the food could be sorted as it was collected. Older volunteers also helped during the week and on the busy days to ensure the food did not restrict the sangat attending these two major events. Through the support of the Gurdwara and Sangat, 9770 lbs of food was collected by the Food Bank. The food banks are in much greater need this year due to inflation and the steep rise in food prices, food security is a much bigger issue for those on limited income.
